Turn off broadcast channel notifications on Facebook or Messenger

Broadcast channels are currently available to:
  • Pages with more than 10,000 followers
  • Profiles with professional mode turned on with more than 10,000 followers
As a member of a broadcast channel, you can mute notifications at any time. When notifications are muted, you won’t receive notifications for new messages.

Mute a broadcast channel

From the Messenger mobile app
  1. Open the channel you want to mute.
  2. Tap at the top.
  3. Tap the toggle next to Mute notifications.
  4. Choose the amount of time you want to mute notifications for.
  5. Tap Done.
From the Facebook mobile app
  1. Open the channel you want to mute.
  2. Tap the name of the channel at the top.
  3. Tap Mute.
  4. Choose the amount of time you want to mute notifications for.

Mute notifications for channel invitations

You can also choose to turn off notifications for new channel invitations. This will turn off notifications for new community chats too.
From the Messenger mobile app
  1. Tap , then tap .
  2. Tap Notifications & sounds.
  3. Below Communities and channels:
    • Tap the toggle next to New messages and activity to turn off notifications about new and popular channels and community chats.
    • Tap the toggle next to Invites to turn off notifications for channels and community chats you are invited to join.
You can also leave a broadcast channel.
