Generate images with Meta AI in chats on Messenger

You can use Meta AI to generate custom images, including images of yourself, in your chats with other people. You can also edit images with Meta AI.
Generate an AI image
- Open an existing chat on Messenger.
- Type @ in the message field, then tap imagine. Next to @Meta AI /imagine, enter a description of an image you want to generate (example: "A tiger wearing a vest").
- Tap

- Meta AI will generate an image in response in the chat.
Generate another variation of an AI image
- In the chat, tap and hold an image generated by Meta AI.
- Tap Reply.
- In the text box, next to @Meta AI, you can enter one of the following prompts:
- "animate" to animate the image
- a description of what you'd like to change (example: "Add fireworks")
- Tap

- Meta AI will generate the new image in the chat.
Generate an AI image of yourself
This feature is in development and being gradually introduced in the United States. It may not be available to you yet.
- Open an existing chat.
- In the message field, enter @ then select Meta AI.
- Next to @Meta AI, enter “imagine me” followed by a description of what you’d like to be imagined as (example: “Imagine me as an astronaut").

. If it's your first time using this feature, you’ll be asked to add photos of yourself. Select a method and follow the on-screen prompts:
- Make sure you have good lighting and remove any headwear before taking your photos.
- You also have the option to upload up to 3 photos from your device to improve your AI images. Only add photos of yourself.
- Meta AI will generate an image of you in the chat, based on your prompt and setup photos.
You can also send this prompt directly in your chat with Meta AI. You can turn this feature off and delete your setup photos in Meta AI settings at any time.
Meta AI can only read and reply to messages that mention @Meta AI, including @Meta AI /imagine or "imagine me..." prompts. Others in your chat will be able to see your message to the AI, as well as the AI’s response. Be mindful before including any personal information in your message (examples: name, address, email or phone number).
Provide feedback on images generated by Meta AI
Some content generated by AIs may be inaccurate or inappropriate. You can provide feedback to Meta about responses from Meta AI.
- Tap and hold the AI image you'd like to provide feedback on.
- Tap Good response or Bad response. You may have to tap More first.
- If prompted, select a reason, then tap Submit.
