Unblock someone's profile on Messenger

Desktop App
  1. Open Messenger for Windows or macOS.
  2. Click your profile picture in the bottom left, then click Preferences.
  3. Click Account Settings. Your Facebook settings page will open in your default browser.
  4. In your Facebook settings, click Blocking.
  5. Scroll down to Block messages.
  6. Click Edit, then click See your blocked list.
  7. Click Unblock next to the name of the person you want to unblock.
Desktop (messenger.com)
  1. Open Messenger for Windows or macOS.
  2. Click your profile picture in the bottom left, then click Preferences.
  3. Click Manage Blocking.
  4. In your Facebook settings, click Blocking.
  5. Scroll down to Block messages.
  6. Click Edit, then click See your blocked list.
  7. Click Unblock next to the name of the person you want to unblock.
If you unblock someone’s Facebook profile on Messenger, keep in mind:
  • You'll also unblock them on Facebook.
  • Unblocking a profile won't add them as a Facebook friend again.
  • You won't be able to block them again for 48 hours.
