This feature is not available to everyone at this time.
Messenger may send you automated messages to keep you up to date and provide tips about how to use our app and features.
If you don’t want to receive these messages, you can block the official Messenger account. You can unblock the Messenger account anytime to start receiving messages from us again.
Block the official Messenger account
- Tap
Menu.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Blocked accounts.
- Tap
Add.
- In the search bar, type “Messenger,” then select Messenger
Verified account when it appears.
- Tap Done.
You can also block the Messenger account by tapping the name at the top of the chat, then tapping Block.
Unblock the official Messenger account
- Tap
Menu.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Blocked accounts.
- Tap Add.
- From your list of blocked accounts, find and tap Messenger
Verified account.
- Tap Unblock on Facebook to unblock the Messenger account and start receiving messages from us again.
