Add someone to a Messenger community

Creating a new community on Messenger is not available to everyone or on all platforms at this time.
Admins or members can invite new people to a Messenger community. People will be added automatically or receive an invite depending on the community’s approval settings, which admins can manage in Member requests.
Remember that only members can participate in a community, but others can preview information about it, such as the community’s name and description, chat names, names of mutual friends in a chat, the admin’s name and profile picture and more.

Add someone to a Messenger community

  1. From the Messenger mobile app, tap Menu.
  2. Tap Communities.
  3. Select the community you want to add someone to.
  4. Tap Add member.
  5. From here, you can:
    • Search for and tap to select someone to invite.
    • Tap to select a suggested group chat to invite all members of that chat.
    • Tap to select individual people.
    • Tap Copy link or another sharing option to send an invite link.
Members can leave a community at any time by tapping Information, then Leave community.
