Android bubbles on Messenger

Bubbles are available on Pixels on Android 11 and higher. If you do not see this feature on Messenger, please update your Android device.
Bubbles let you read and reply to messages while you're using other apps.
A bubble (a circle with your friend's profile picture) will pop up when you get a new message. To view and reply to the message without leaving the screen you're on, just tap the bubble.
You can use your finger to move bubbles around on your screen or drag them to the bottom of the screen to close them when you're done chatting.
If bubbles aren't appearing on your Android, you'll need to turn them on.

Turn on bubbles on your Android

  1. Tap , then tap .
  2. Scroll down and tap Bubbles.
  3. Tap All conversations can bubble. To turn off this feature, select Nothing can bubble.
