Have Meta AI remember details about you while chatting on Messenger

While chatting directly with Meta AI on Messenger, Meta AI can remember details about you. Meta AI will remember these details to help generate responses to your chats. (Example: If you have Meta AI remember that you like a particular type of food, if you ask it to make a recipe, it'll use those flavors more often.)
When you add accounts to the same Accounts Center, Meta AI remembers details you share with it in chats across those accounts. Learn more about shared Meta AI memory.

To have Meta AI save a detail about you

  1. While chatting with Meta AI, submit a prompt with the detail you’d like Meta AI to remember. It’s best to use words like “Remember” or “Save”. Example: “Remember that I’m vegan.”
Meta AI may also recognize when you share a relevant detail and save it automatically. Details involving certain topics may require you to explicitly ask Meta AI to save or remember it.
You’ll see Memory updated after your message when Meta AI saves a detail about you, either when you ask it to save one or when it recognizes a relevant detail about you. You can tap View to see a list of the details that Meta AI remembers about you.
Details that contain inappropriate information or are unsafe in nature can’t be saved. If Meta AI can’t save a detail you ask it to save, it’ll tell you it can’t be saved.
You can delete details Meta AI saves about you at any time. Learn more about how to delete details that Meta AI remembers about you.

  • Similar to other chats, interactions with AI are subject to our Community Standards and Terms of Service.
  • An AI’s response may be inaccurate or inappropriate and should not be used to make important decisions.
  • Meta uses your interactions with AIs to improve AI at Meta. If the AIs cannot answer your query, Meta shares the messages you send to AI and general information, like your region, with select partners so you can get better results. Visit our Meta AI Terms of Service to learn more.
  • Meta AI uses your location information to give you more relevant responses. Your location information is based on things like the settings you've chosen on your device, or your activity across our products. Learn more about how to manage your location in the Privacy Center.
  • Other information from your profile such as your age and gender, and interests based on your activity across our products, such as the types of content, including ads, you view or interact with and how you interact with it, will be used to help personalize your interactions with AI.   • Depending on your prompt, the content generated may go against our Community Standards or Terms of Service of Meta's platforms. Sharing AI-generated content on our platforms that go against these standards will be treated the same as sharing other content that go against our standards. If you share generated content that goes against our standards, your content may be removed and your account may be restricted or disabled.
