Only admins of group chats in Messenger can add other admins. Note: Group chat admins are different from community chat admins.

Make someone an admin of your group chat in Messenger

Desktop App:
  1. Open the group chat.
  2. Click in the top right to open the chat information.
  3. Click Chat members, then click next to the person you'd like to make admin.
  4. Click Make Admin, then click Make Admin to confirm.
Desktop (messenger.com):
  1. Open the group chat.
  2. Click in the top right to open the chat information.
  3. Click Chat members, then click next to the person you'd like to make admin.
  4. Click Make admin, then click Make admin to confirm.
