Take a screenshot using the Snipping Tool on a PC running Windows 7 or later

On Windows 7 and Windows 10, the search tool will appear on the bottom left of your screen. On Windows 8 and 8.1, the search tool will appear on the top right.
  1. Open the Snipping Tool by clicking Start and typing Snipping Tool into the search tool and then selecting the application when it appears.
  2. Click New. The screen will turn white and you can select the area where you want to take a screenshot with your cursor.
  3. The area you've selected will now appear in the Snipping Tool. If you wish, you can highlight sections using your cursor.
  4. Select File then Save As.
  5. From the Save As menu in the pop-up box, select PNG.
  6. Type in a file name for your image, choose a location on your storage device to save to and then click Save.

Take a screenshot using Print Screen

  1. Find the Print Screen (PrtSc) key on your keyboard.
  2. Open the program, tool or app you wish to screenshot.
  3. Press Print Screen (PrtSc) to take a screenshot.
  4. Open a program to paste your screenshot (example: Microsoft Paint or PowerPoint).
  5. Press Control (Ctrl) + V on your keyboard to paste your screenshot.
  6. Note: You can also directly paste your screenshot into an email.

Record your screen on a PC

To record the screen on your desktop PC you can search on your browser for free software using the keyword "Screencast."

Take a screenshot on a Mac

  1. Hold down the following three keys at the same time: ⌘, Shift and 4.
  2. Click, hold and drag your cursor to highlight the area of the screen you want to capture.
  3. Release your cursor to take the picture. It should appear on your desktop as a file named "Screen Shot" with the date and time.

Record your screen on a Mac

  1. Hold down the following three keys at the same time: ⌘, Shift and 5.
  2. You'll now see controls for recording your entire screen, recording a selected portion of the screen, or capturing a still image of your screen.
  3. Select your method and click Record to begin recording your screen.
  4. Click the stop button to end your recording.

Take a screenshot on an iPhone or iPad

  1. Press and hold the power and volume up buttons. On some devices, you may need to press and hold the power and home buttons instead.
  2. Release once you hear the shutter noise or see the screen flash.
  3. The screenshot will be stored in your phone's Camera Roll (Photos then Camera Roll).

Record your screen on an iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings, then select Control Center.
  2. Tap + next to Screen Recording. You may have to look below More controls.
  3. Swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen. On iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later, swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen.
  4. Tap the Screen Recording icon to begin your recording.
  5. To stop recording, tap the red status bar at the top of your screen and tap Stop.
To find your recording, open the Photos app.

Take a screenshot on a Samsung Galaxy device

  1. Press and hold the power and volume down buttons. On some devices, you may need to press and hold the volume down and home buttons instead.
  2. Release once you hear the shutter noise or see the screen flash.
  3. The screenshot will be stored in your phone's Gallery.

Record your screen on a Samsung Galaxy device

    The following steps apply to Galaxy devices with Android OS Version 10.0 (Q).
  1. Swipe down to access your Quick Panel and select Screen Recorder.
  2. Choose your preferred Sound settings then tap Start recording.
  3. Tap the stop button to stop recording.

  1. Press and hold the power and volume down buttons. On some phones you'll need to press and hold the volume down and home buttons instead.
  2. Release once you hear the shutter noise or see the screen flash.
  3. The screenshot will be stored in your phone's Gallery.

Record your screen on most Android devices, excluding Samsung Galaxy devices

To record the screen of your Android you can search on your app store for free software using the keyword "Screencast."
