Search for a conversation on Messenger

Desktop web (messenger.com)
  1. From messenger.com, click Search Messenger at the top of your inbox.
  2. Search for a person, business, service, place, phone number or text from a conversation.
  3. Tap the person, business, service or place to open the conversation.
If you can't find the conversation:
  • Check to see if they've been blocked, and then unblock them.
  • You may have deleted the conversation.
  • You may have archived the conversation.
  • Your chat history might not have been synced on the device you are searching in. When searching for a message in your chat history, you may see “Messages are missing. Sync now." Click Sync now to automatically sync your chat history on your device.
  • You may need to restore your chat history on a new device.
