As a parent, you can choose how friending works using controls in your Parent Dashboard.
You can choose how to supervise friending by selecting one of the Friending controls:
- My child can choose friends: Your child will be able to add and remove people on their friend list and you’ll be notified every time. You will still be able to add and remove friends through the Parent Dashboard.
- Only I can choose friends: Adding and removing friends can only take place from the Parent Dashboard within Facebook. If there’s another parent/guardian managing your child’s account, they’ll also be able to edit your child’s friend list. Learn how to add or remove another parent.
- Turning on or off kid codes.
- Turning on or off controls to allow friends of your child’s friends to ask to chat.
Learn how to help your child accept or decline friend requests from their Messenger Kids account.
Note: When you change how you supervise friending for your child, all parents on the account will be notified.
