Turn off player updates on Messenger
This feature is not available to everyone yet.
When you play Instant Games on Facebook and Messenger with other people, many games allow you to play and take turns whenever it’s convenient for you.
To help facilitate gameplay, updates to and from the people who are playing will be sent as messages within their chat thread on Messenger. These updates from players will let you know what just happened in the game and when it’s your turn.
You can also turn off receiving player updates for a particular game and game thread.
Turn off player updates
- Go to your chat thread.
- Above the player update sent from the game, tap Turn off.
When you do this, player updates will no longer be shown to you for only that game in that thread. These updates will still be sent to other players as long as they have not turned off the updates. You can turn updates back on by tapping Turn on in the thread.
