Communities

Creating a new community on Messenger is not available to everyone or on all platforms at this time.
Communities on Messenger are chat-based communities for up to 5,000 members to plan events, find support and share information with others across multiple chats in one place. Messenger communities are managed by community admins, and can be found and joined by anyone on Messenger. Communities are not Facebook groups and do not include the same features as Facebook groups.
Remember that communities are visible to and may be shown as suggestions to anyone on Messenger, but only members can see who’s in them and content sent. You can be added to a community by an admin or a friend and you can leave at any time. Learn more about privacy and safety of communities on Messenger.
You can create a new community, or you can create a community from an existing group chat. If you create the community, you are automatically the admin of the community.
