You can change or remove the profile photo that you see for an Android phone contact on Messenger from your Android’s Contacts app.
You may want to ask your Android device manufacturer for specific instructions on how to do this.
Any profile photo you set up for a phone contact on the Contacts app will show up as their profile photo on Messenger.
