Create a note to share updates with your friends and contacts on Messenger.
Your note appears next to your profile picture in the Chats list and on your Facebook story for 24 hours. After it expires, it will no longer be visible.

Create a note on Messenger

  1. From Chats, tap Post a note by your profile picture in the top left.
  2. Tap Share a thought... to enter a note of up to 60 characters.
  3. Tap Share.

Delete your note on Messenger

  1. From Chats, tap your note by your profile picture in the top left.
  2. Tap Delete note.
Replace your note anytime by tapping on it, then tapping Leave a new note.
You can reply to other people’s notes by tapping on them and writing a reply. Replies will send in a chat between you and the other person on Messenger.
If you see a note that goes against our Community Standards, you can report it to Meta.
