Payments in Messenger are only available on your mobile device in the US at this time.
We may ask you to verify your payment method to help keep your account secure. To verify your payment method, we’ll send a temporary transaction with a verification code to your default card. You’ll need to enter your verification code on Messenger before you can continue sending payments.
Note: Verification codes expire after 24 hours. If your code expires, you can send a new code to verify your payment method.

Find your verification code

  1. A verification screen will appear when you’re sending money on Messenger.
  2. On the verification screen, tap Send code to receive a temporary transaction on your default card.
  3. Log into your card’s online account, then go to your recent transactions.
  4. Find the temporary transaction of $1.00 with your 4-character verification code. (Example: 13AF)
  5. Once you find your verification code, enter the code on Messenger.
If you have trouble with your verification code, we recommend trying these solutions:
  • Make sure you enter your verification code correctly.
  • Enter your verification code before it expires.
  • Make sure you check the correct financial account for your verification code.
  • Make sure you’re connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network.
  • Close your Messenger app and restart your device.
  • Try using a different payment method.
If your verification code isn’t recognized after three attempts, you can submit a request for a manual review. Note: You won’t be able to send payments on Messenger while your account is under review. If you need help with your verification code or manual review, please contact our support team.
