How does Facebook secure and protect my information when I use payments in Messenger?

Payments in Messenger are only available in the US at this time.
Starting September 29th 2022, you'll no longer be able to send money through Messenger.com or on your desktop computer. You can continue to send money to friends and family using the Messenger app on your mobile device.
We take many precautions to help keep your account secure and prevent unauthorized access to the payment information you save in Messenger.
When you send or receive money in Messenger, only the dollar amount, your name, and profile photo are shared between you and your friend. We don't share any information we may ask you for when verifying your identity.
