As a parent, you can decide how you supervise friending for your child’s Messenger Kids account. Learn more about friending on Messenger Kids.
If your control is set to Only I can choose friends, they'll be able to send friend requests using their Messenger Kids app and you approve these requests on the Parent Dashboard.
If your control is set to My child can choose friends, they can use friending codes to request to connect with friends. You'll be notified when they send a request and can review or cancel the request from your Parent Dashboard.

Request a friend in the Messenger Kids app

  1. Open the Messenger Kids app.
  2. Tap Start chat.
  3. Tap Add more friends.
  4. Enter your friend's code, then tap Ask to Chat.
  5. Tap Ok.
Keep in mind that when your child requests friends, the parent managing their account will be notified.
