How it works
Once end-to-end encryption is introduced to your account, you may be given the option to store your chats in secure storage and allow Messenger to restore your chats using your Google Account.
When you allow Messenger to restore your chat history with your Google Account, you’re allowing Messenger to keep a copy of a key to your secure storage within your Google Drive. This will allow you to access your chat history whenever you switch to another Android mobile device or switch accounts on Messenger.
Your chat history won’t be stored in Google Drive. Note: you can’t restore your chat history with a Google Account on a computer at this time, only on Android mobile devices.
