Use multiple devices for end-to-end encrypted chats on Messenger

An end-to-end encrypted conversation on Messenger means the messages are meant only for you and the other person, and not anyone else, including us.
You can use more than one mobile device for end-to-end encrypted chats. To add a new device, install the Messenger app and sign into Messenger on that device.
When you sign into a new mobile device:
  • You won't see the messages from previous encrypted conversations on the new device.
  • You'll receive a notice in previous encrypted conversations letting you and the other participants know you're on a new device.
  • Once the device is added, you'll see new messages in end-to-end encrypted conversations on all active devices.
