Channels
Channels, formerly called broadcast channels, are currently available to:
- Pages with more than 10,000 followers
- Profiles with professional mode turned on with more than 10,000 followers
Channels is a public messaging tool that allows you to share one-way messages like announcements and exclusive content directly to your followers in a chat format.
Only someone with full or partial control of a Page or someone who has a profile in professional mode can send content in Channels. People who join a channel can read and react to messages in the channel, as well as vote in polls, but they cannot send messages. Channels also allows for posting branded content to your followers. Since channels are designed for public messaging, they can be found and joined by anyone on Facebook or Messenger. Anyone can preview a channel when they receive a link or notification to join. Learn more about how channels are different from the private chats you use to connect with family and friends, and different from community chats.
