Send a message

Desktop app
  1. Open Messenger for Windows or macOS.
  2. Click Start chat.
  3. Type or select a contact’s name.
  4. Type your message in the text box at the bottom.
  5. Click Send.
You can also forward messages, images, videos or recordings from a conversation to another person or a group chat on Messenger.
Note: There are limits for how many chats you can forward the same message to at once.

  1. From your conversation, hover over the message or media you want to forward and click Options.
  2. Click Forward.
  3. Next to the person or group chat you want to forward the message to, click Send.
