Parents
Right now, it can be hard for kids to stay connected and socially engaged with their friends and family. Messenger Kids is an app designed for kids aged 6-12 to have fun video chatting and messaging in a parent-controlled environment. Parents can set up virtual play dates or homework sessions, and kids can use fun, interactive experiences to keep the laughter and connections thriving.
Educators
Messenger can help you stay connected with your community even when you can't be together in person. Communicate updates or check in on each other with group voice and video calls. Or utilise groups or Rooms to stay connected with parents or colleagues.*
Businesses
Messaging helps businesses stay connected to customers when they can't be there in person. Leverage free messaging tools to provide customers with important information and consider setting up automated responses to frequently asked questions such as shop closures, opening hours and more.
Local community
Whether it's a community of faith, civic organisation or activity group, this climate of uncertainty has made maintaining personal connections with those in our community more important than ever. Consider hosting group gatherings with Messenger Rooms, or creating a group to stay connected, share critical information or just be there to support one another.
Staying close when you're not together
Stay connected on group chat
Share important information and keep in touch with your community groups and close connections with group chats. Custom group names and emojis also help to keep things fun and organised.
Check in with group video
Use Rooms to hang out with your favourite people on video chat. You can invite up to 50 people with no time limits, and you don't need a Facebook account to join.
Share your story
Connecting remotely can help us feel closer together. Create and share stories with close friends and family, so they can stay connected via visual snapshots of your day.
Express yourself
Take time to share joy with those around you with fun, lighthearted features such as AR filters, GIFs, camera stickers, emojis and chat sticker packs on any device and platform you use.
Stay safe and avoid scams

Watch out for scams
One of the best ways to protect yourself from scams and harmful misinformation is to stay informed. Be wary of people asking for money or offering medical treatments if you don't know them in real life. If someone contacts you claiming to be a public figure or organisation, look for the Blue Badge that indicates that this is their verified account. Prevent the spread of misinformation
Not everything you are sent about the coronavirus may be accurate. Verify the facts with other trusted sources such as the World Health Organization or your ministry of health. Look for forward indicators that alert you when you are receiving a forwarded message, which helps you to know when a message that you've received was not created by the person who sent it. If you're not sure if something is accurate, please don't forward it.
